What you can do with Talvin
Talvin runs first-round screening interviews for you. You set up an interview for a role, and an AI interviewer talks with each candidate by voice, in their browser, whenever it suits them.
Every interview is recorded, transcribed and scored. Your team reviews the results and decides who moves forward.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- You create an interview. Give it a name, pick an AI interviewer, set the number of questions (up to 10) and the length (5 to 15 minutes), and describe what you want to learn.
- Talvin writes the questions, or you do. Talvin can generate questions from your objective and job description. You can edit them or write your own.
- You send it to candidates. Copy the interview link, or invite candidates by email from Talvin.
- Candidates take the interview. They talk with the AI interviewer, who asks your questions and follows up on their answers.
- You review the results. Each completed interview gets scores, a summary, the transcript and the recording.
What’s in Talvin
Section titled “What’s in Talvin”AI voice interviews
Section titled “AI voice interviews”- Choose from a set of AI interviewers, each with its own voice and style.
- Generate questions from the interview name, objective and job description, or write them yourself.
- Set how much each question is followed up: None, Low (brief follow-up) or High (in-depth follow-up).
- On paid plans, turn on Required video for this interview to record candidates on camera.
Candidate invites
Section titled “Candidate invites”Add candidates one by one or upload a CSV, and Talvin emails each of them the interview link. Talvin can also send automatic reminders to anyone who hasn’t taken the interview yet. See Invite candidates.
Scored results
Section titled “Scored results”For each candidate you get:
- A recommendation (Strong advance, Advance, Hold or Not advance) and an overall percentage, with written feedback.
- A Communication score out of 10.
- Results for your own scoring criteria, if you set up Custom Scoring.
- A summary, strengths and areas to improve, a per-question summary, the full transcript and the recording.
You can then mark each candidate as Potential, Selected or Not Selected. See Review candidates for an interview.
Interview integrity
Section titled “Interview integrity”Candidates verify their email with a code before they start, and each email address can take an interview only once. Talvin tracks tab switching and keyboard activity during the interview and flags it on the candidate’s results.
Assessments
Section titled “Assessments”Assessments are role-play scenarios where the AI plays a customer. Use them to see how a candidate handles a real conversation, for example in a sales or support role.
AI Copilot (coming soon)
Section titled “AI Copilot (coming soon)”AI Copilot will let you ask questions about your candidates and interview results in a chat. It isn’t available yet.
Integrations
Section titled “Integrations”Connect Talvin to Ashby or Zapier, or create API keys, from Settings > Integrations.
What Talvin doesn’t do
Section titled “What Talvin doesn’t do”- Make hiring decisions. Talvin scores and summarizes interviews; your team decides. Candidates are told that their interview will be reviewed by a person.
- Reference checks. Automated reference calls, mentioned in older guides, aren’t available in Talvin right now.
- Work on phones. The Talvin dashboard doesn’t open on phones or other small screens, so use a computer.
Plans and credits
Section titled “Plans and credits”You can create one interview for free to see how Talvin works. To make it live, invite candidates or edit it, you need a paid plan.
Interviews use credits, based on how many minutes each candidate spends in the interview. See Key concepts for how credits and plans work.
